Madosini and Friends

Madosini is a South African cultural treasure. Her music lies at the very beginnings of humanity finding ways to make incredible music out of the simplest instruments.
We see her in this video using the Uhadi musical bow in which a calabash resonates the harmonics produced by the bow string producing a distinct melody.
Bongi is playing the Udu drum and Pedro the Lekgodilo harmonic flute traditional to Southern Africa.
The song talks about lost love and was used in the prize winning film "Yesterday" about Aids in South Africa.
Madosini tours frequently as "Madosini and Friends" or as "MadoJazz", a group which explores the natural Jazz roots of her music.
