  • A Scottish highlander and a thief went to a bar:

the thief says, "give me your money, or I'll cut you with my knife (pulls out a 2 inch blade - wimpy)

the Scot chuckles, and then says, "Well, me lad, that's not a knife!! (takes out his dirk) - THIS is a knife!!!!!"

thief sees the bowie-sized knife, runs away.

  • Shouldn't you move your feet a little?

  • mind the old fellow witht the clipboard he's a clear danger to all near him...

  • What? No jokes yet about the Scottish Dirk Dance ordinarily being performed with sheep?

    YouTube is losing its' edge.

  • Nice usage of the old Boghall salute from 1983!

  • I too am of the Lamont clan. I have never seen these dances. As for the Scots being brits or from them, that person that said that really needs to go back to school and study history and this time stay awake in class.

  • There's a number of historical references to dirk dances. The surviving dance was 'recovered' in Canada in the 1950's and can be traced back to a champion piper/dancer called D. C. Mather who emigrated there in the 1900s.

  • I've been a piper since I was 15, and never come across the dirk dance before! Is it traditional or recently invented? I used to have a highland broadsword, but it was stolen over 2 years ago. It's probably unique in that it had the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) crest etched onto the blade. If anyone finds it, please let me know!
