Fantasia del quarto tono Narvaez

A beautiful fantasia by Luis de Narvaez from 16th-century Spain, originally for an instrument called the vihuela - a guitar-like instrument. My guitar is a Manuel Rodrigues y Hijos Baby Rodrigues, Senorita model - string length 60cms. It is strung in Gut And Silk strings by Aquila, and plucked without nails, just the flesh of the finger tips for an intimate sound. Almost normal guitar tuning - the third string is down a semitone, and a capo is on the second fret.

Fabulous! I love the vihuela-like sound of your guitar. Thanks for sharing the details of your guitar. I have experimented to get vihuela sound from my guitar and come to the fact that with standard size guitar you won't get vihuela sound. Recently I came across a small guitar called Guitalele and found that its sound more closely resembled a vihuela than a standard guitar did.
