I saw her in Guadalajara's Panamerican Games :-) I think she won a silver medal but you could see in her face an inner happiness that said "Ive done it all......Im just happy to be here and go home with a medal"

I think that her demeanor is a credit to her coach as well. She isn't acting happy...she IS happy. You don't see that on many of the other girls faces. There have been a lot of great coaches but I love the style in which Chow teaches and Shawn is a credit on and off the mat to her parents and coach!

@siljed30492 The piece is making references to Mary Lou and Carly being 16 when they won their Olympic All-Around Medal, but the "perfect age" means that she is old enough to compete. After the 1996 Olympics, there was a requirement for all gymnasts to be 16 years old. That requirement is what lost China their bronze in 2000, which ended up going to the US.
