Here I name off the names to trucking companies for which I have applications.

I prefaced all this with a few remarks of the situation I've entered.

  • While you're gaining your experience, any company that trains well will do. Study them. Make notes about where they haul (south, north, northeast, 48 states, near your home, etc). All of them probably offer the same rate of pay based upon experience. All of them require a minimum amount of training.

  • MOST companies are as bad the next. They all pay within a few cents of each other.

you have to choose the carrier based on credit risk (whether or not they pay you on time), home time, and lanes travelled.

i don't like being forced dispatched, so that;s a big issue for me.

  • I tend to think it all averages out. I've gotten calls from Schneider and Werner. For the first year, I need good training and experience. I suppose either one could help with that.

  • Since you aren't tied to the school system anymore why don't you move to the Philippines with little bear?

  • That's easier said than done. I still have to make a living, and all the money I make here can/will go further there, so I'm still working on the retirement concerns.

    Thanks.

  • This is rediculous, it's absolutley a loss to the school system. This reminds me of the time I got suspended for 3 days after someone took a photo of me with my underwear strap showing. Sometimes, people overreact and act like you've killed someone.

  • What subject did you teach? As a sub, I taught all subjects. However, subbing is drying up where I am, and, I'm getting back into trucking. I'll be working with ONE of those that you listed. In three weeks I'll be in Fontana, CA to see how well I handle a truck. Luckilly I already have my Class A, but, I was never good with gears. Oh well.

  • ERB TRANSPORT in Ontario, Tough to get in, but they are hiring and worth trying.

If you have experience and have a CLEAN, I mean a CLEAN RECORD..

They have a tough hiring process. They really screen you and your past.

Drug Tests, Road Test, Screening of your past employers...they check all.

That is what makes them so good. Your BENEFIT and mine "if hired' is YOU get to work with the best people at one of the Better Transportation Companies in the World.
