As the Catholic Church struggles to deal with a wave of sex abuse scandals, Simox Cox investigates the Pope's track record in dealing with paedophile priests. When he was elected, Pope Benedict XVI promised to rid his Church of "filth", but he now stands accused of covering up abuse and failing to protect children from paedophile priests - the first during his time as Archbishop of Munich and the second while leading the Vatican watchdog responsible for dealing with clerical abuse.
@19lfm12 FYI.....a correction to your reporter:
The CDF does indeed have email, but it is an 'unlisted number' - so to speak:) All Vatican agencies & discastries have had email since the 80s. Vatican staff, cleric & lay, have Blackberrys, use email, secure phones, & other sophisticated tools.
The Vatican was integral to the establishment of what you now know as the 'Internet' & is key to CERN as well.

It is sickening that many Catholics are so deeply in Denial of reality, that they either think the abuse cases never happened.......and that Ratzinger is not responsible & is 'innocent'.
That would be like saying that Dr.Josef Mengele was just a camp doctor.......
