Cedric/Hermione/Ron - How did we get here?

NOTE:

Things you need to know before hand:

It's Hermione's 4th year at Hogwarts, the year in which the Triwizard tournament takes place. Hermione has a relationship with Ron, but things aren't going too well between them. She suspects he has a thing for Cho, Cedric's best friend.

Storyline:

It's time for all seventeen-year-olds who want to become a Triwizard champion, to put their name in the Goblet of fire. This is when Hermione first really notices Cedric. When the Triwizard champions are announced it's no surprise when Cedric is to represent Hogwarts. But then another student from Hogwarts is selected: Hermione Granger.
She doesn't really want to compete in the tournament, but the rules are clear. She has to deal with the nosy reporters, challenging tasks, her unfaithful boyfriend and falling in love.
As most cheating boyfriends do; Ron tries, and succeeds to make up. This to Cedric's annoyance. He hates seeing Hermione get hurt again.
The second task begins; Cedric saves Cho from the mermaids and Hermione saves Ron. But both contestants don't feel like they saved their 'treasure'.
Hermione starts to seriously doubt her relationship with Ron and when she sees Cho, she confronts her. Cho confesses to have been seeing Ron behind Hermione's back.
Of course, Hermione then goes running to Cedric, who is more than willing to cheer her up. The Yule ball starts and we see Ron looking not too pleased with Hermione's new boyfriend.
Then the third, and last task, begins. Cedric and Hermione fight their way through the maze and finally find the Triwizard cup.
