Feb2011 Update: Clarification for some of the comments: the machine was only about 25% full, one king mattress pad, and a few clothes, it had plenty of room for additional items. We had assumed that the auto load balancing would recognize and shut down the machine if an out of balance was detected, and we had assumed that we did not have a large enough load to warrant using the bulky items setting. From our experience the auto sensing is not good enough to rely upon. From our experience we are now using the bulky item setting for any "large" load. We were compensated by LG for the 2 damaged machines and the expense for the drywall repairs. We appreciate the company's support, but chose to purhcase an alternate brand for a 3rd replacement.

  • HOLY COWS!!!! u better buy an front loading washer.I think it's better(front washer of LG) but is obvious that this washer ia a lemon(but just the washer and not the bran) because LG washers normally come good.

  • @Myworld691 - Yeah but the problem is this is our replacement, the first one died on us about 2 months ago only breaking 2 of its mounts adn denting the right side. This blew out all 4 mounts and crushed all 4 sides of the machine, crushing our washer next to it pushing the side cabinet in 2 inches, putting an 8inch crack in our drywall on the otherside, opened drawers on my Toolbox in the garage on the adjoining wall...luckily we were not in the

  • Korean washers are trash..

  • I believe the LE code translates into Lousy Everything. Glad you were not present when this bomb went off. Spend your money on a different brand and seek compensatory damages from LG for the destruction and the washer.

  • @zgidwani Thanks for sharing. We just had that same LG "tornado" touch down in our laundry room last night with an identical load! It disturbs me to see how flimsy their plastic mounts are. Sheet rock damage and all! I can't believe it didn't automatically shut off. It was like a scene from the Exorcist when I opened the laundry room door.

  • Darn LE stands ........Quick call repair man..lol well we glad u did get new model washer..it happens u never goin have a perfect machine some are alot will have gremlins and lemons .

  • We just had the same thing happen to our LG front load washer. We have had nothing but problems with our LG front load washer and dryers. LG doesn't stand behind any of their products! Ours exploded yesterday. We are off to buy new ones today. NOT LG. LG stands for Lost A Grand!!

  • With bigger items or anything heavy that can tangle you should select the Low Soil Level. I have found with bigger items when washing on Medium or High Soil Level my washer would bang from side to side. I caught it right away so no damage was done. If you are not aware the soil level determines how fast it spins in the wash cycle. A lower spin cycle may be needed also. Yes this is not supposed to happen but this could save you from this problem.

  • Well, I guess it can't handle bulky items after all, now can it?

  • Oh my heck! The exact same thing just happened to my LF Wave Force about an hour ago. We heard a huge boom and found the washer destroyed. We were washing twin sheets and a few shirts. We had no idea this would happen. We've had the washer about 6 months and up until now it's been awesome. I sure hope I don't have any problems getting it replaced. I think we need a different washer

  • Problaly the washer feet. were not balnced and that he did not use the bulky cycle and it was too close to the dryer get a lg front loader becase is has sensors that will stop it from happening

  • @TheGlozell2

Wow, this is crazy !! I own this machine and in another mo. I will of owned it for one year. It's great on cleaning, but like I said before it makes me nervous knowing that this could happen. There could be Faulty Brackets that may not be tightened properly and they could of loosened to the point of breakage and causing this to happen. So did you get a replacement after this or go for a different machine ?? What did LG say or do for you about this ?? Thanks ...

  • My WAVEFORCE washer was delivered to me yesterday, and this morning I washed a KING & Queen size comforter seperately using the BULK cycle according to the OWNERS manual. I haven't had a problem with my LG WAVEFORCE was as yet.......

I love it so much I rewashed clothes that were clean for the hell of it
