Dead Space floating container glitch

During chapter 6, in an attempt to save ammo, I thought it would be a good idea to to take an exploding container from one room and transport it to the room where I needed it.
However, I ran into a problem where the container disappears after a certain point. I assume it is either a glitch or some sort of band-aid to prevent another glitch since it only happens with exploding containers.
