  • Great post!!!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • anyone know the final time on this one? I noticed the first 3/4 mi was fast

  • Final time was 2:29 flat.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Great video, cf! Just imagine if the Belmont Stakes was 1 Mile & 9/16, Mackenzie Bridge would've won or Cordero could implore Bold Forbes some more? Thanks!

  • Yeah, that would have been tight if was an 8th longer. It seemed like Bold Forbes still had a little in the tank though, he looked to be fighting back somewhat when they came up beside him. Glad you enjoyed it. Take care.

  • Mackenzie Bridge almost caught him. Helluva race ! Why didn't Elocutionist, the Preakness winner run ?

  • @cf1970 When Bold Forbes died there were two coffins: one for the body and one for his heart. I think that Bo had nothing else in the Belmont, but his heart won. If you notice, the last 50 meters Cordero did not hit Bo, only show the wip. That was cause Bo was so tired. The thing is the Belmont was not 1 and 9/16, just the right distance for great Bo.

  • Cordero was at his best in this one

One of the most intimidating jockeys ever

  • Bold Forbes is my horses (Eye'm Jag) sire

  • Does anyone have the 1976 preakness? Please upload it if you do.

  • He didn't he said Bold Forbes is the Secretariat of Puerto Rico. Can you not read?

  • How do you get a sprinter home going 1 1/2? Easy a top notch ride, top notch training, and one tough horse who just didn't want to get beat. I can't stress enough that he was a sprinter! Cordero has said "Believe me he was a sprinter". He said he wasn't the best horse he ever rode, but he the most guts of any horse he ever rode. A sprinter winning the Belmont going 12 F.????

  • How do you get a pure sprinter to go 1-1/2 miles? Give it to Cordero in his prime. The 1-1/4 was 2/5 of a second slower than his Derby win. At the head of the stretch Junior was imploring him "Take me to the 8th pole and I'll take you home!" That's exactly what he did. He carried the horse the last furlong. Just watch him almost fly out of the saddle with hustle. Spectacular ride.
