Senator Mark Udall spoke on the floor of the Senate about the proposed reauthorization of the PATRIOT Act. The legislation would allow the government to continue using three controversial and wide-ranging provisions for four more years. The senators have concerns about the lack of time for debate on the bill as well as the impact of the provisions, which allow extensive government access to private records and power to wiretap individuals or groups.
