JOHN BARRY 'Across The Sea Of Time' Complete Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 1995

When people speak of John Barry's greatest soundtracks they frequently refer to those written in the 1960's. Across The Sea Of Time proves that thirty years after composing Goldfinger, John Barry could still produce a masterpiece.

The film itself was made for IMAX cinemas and is basically an excuse to film all of New York's most famous landmarks in 3D. However, what comes across in the music is John Barry's absolute love of his adopted home town.

Barry famously left the production of the Barbra Streisand movie, 'The Prince Of Tides' after being asked to change the music he had written. He re-uses that theme here as 'Flight Over New York'. I have also included the title track from John Barry's 1992 album, 'Moviola' which is another lovely version of this theme. I had the pleasure of seeing Barry conduct this piece at two concerts of his film music at the Royal Albert Hall.
