I've heard Joe didn't want to sing at the time, he was about 14. Kevin was 16 and Nick was 11.

I found this on another vid, they said it was on Wikipedia:

first version was made when Nicholas Jonas, the youngest of the band, was a young child and had a high pitched voice. His brothers, Joe and Kevin, were also featured in the song. Contrary to popular belief though, the brother who shared the lead vocals with Nick in this version was Kevin, not Joe. Kevin also played guitar. This version was originally going to be put on Nick's solo album, Nicholas Jonas but was cancelled.
