@bvaldary1 became ill and died. I don't know if any of these events were a trigger to his behavior, but all he does is hide near the filter in human presence.

How you get him so active. My dovii is currently the scarriest (scared) fish I ever owned. He wasn't always like this. I bought two, not knowing they were of different genders. They were in a tank with a gold fish, a convict, a green terror, and a firemouth cichlid. They were all killed in the reverse order listed. When I was down to the goldfish with the two dovii, they had fry. I had no way to separate them and were eventually eaten by the male, which is all I have left, after the female...
