  • Beautiful improv solo Luis!! I'm doing it for a show tomorrow and if it sounds half as good as yours I will be happy. :)

  • Thanks!! Don't forget to film your performance and upload to youtube... And don't forget to use dorian mode at the beginning of the solo (one "aeolian" tone slipped when I was soloing, and I don't really like it!!) Good luck.

  • I was pretty sure it was supposed to be a cello solo.... is it not?

  • Actually, in the original recording it is a baritone violin solo (played by Darol Anger).

  • wow This performance it's spirit lifting :)

  • Heh. Nice to hear the song played so well. I'm in an orchestra that's doing this piece in two days; wouldn't you know that I've got the improv solo :P Wish me luck!

  • Awesome! You guys are pretty funky! Strong rhythm. This was good/helpful for me to hear. I'm a jazz saxophonist writing for string quartet. Check me out on You Tube, "Go Down Moses" Lance Bryant

  • Nice! This is wonderful!

  • i love this song and you guys play it great. i <3 the improv

  • im so happy my orchestra is playing this at DisneyWorld in April im so excited!!!!!! this song is moving!!!!

  • you all played the major themes correctly but when it came to solos you let us wanting more. Dynamics were off at times. There was not enough constrast between the begining and when the first solo became which could barely be heard. The cello solo could been stronger. The violin solo needed more imagination. The 1st violin needs to work on her inotonation it got bad in the high areas. The first two notes were in wrong rhythm. I played this piece a few years ago with OSHS and we killed it.

  • i thought this was sooooooo cool

  • love it love it love it.

    great execution.

  • Holy smokes!!!!!!!! I love the rhythm and melodies and all!! We're playing this in our high school!!!!
