Show me how to make a light sequencer
-
do more experiments! am thinking of buying one of these labs from Radio Shack.

@piglover987 it is volts, that V on the paper stands for the maximum that that capacitor can handle
-
it is not volts because i have that kit and it does not go up to that many volts
-
uF = Microferrit... voltage doesnt matterwhen it comes to 'blinking' the higer the uF... the slower the blink rate is... "V" = volts you were correct... lol
-
i got my colors mixed up and almost blew my 500v cap.

one thing is capacitors have a input and output side as shown by the strip on the capacitor label. they have to be placed correctly or you'll blow the capacitor immediately.

It looks to me like you have a resistor, capacitator and the LED. That means, the Resistor & Capacitator make an RC circuit and the LED illustrates this fact. Change either the Capacitator or Resistor to a larger value and you increase the Time it takes for the capacitator to charge / discharge. In short, they form a timing circuit. Small values less time to charge ( led illuminates during charge, off during discharge).

uf stands for microfarads and what that tells you is how much electricity can be stored the # then a v tells you to which voltage this capacitor is safe till say 100v if you put it over 100 it will explode
- You're right it runs ONLY off of 6 AA batteries for a total of 9v (There are resistors to limit the current/voltage that reaches the LED)
- The 22uF 25v (on the paper) is what is written on the Capacitors
- The alligator clips were used so I would not have to keep putting and pulling Capacitors on and off of the breadboard.
