@PinkProgram I believe that's kind of what they do for skin grafts.
Additionally, I think there were experiments of that sort with a heart. The cells were cleaned from the structure of it, leaving a sort of scaffolding... They did something else with it, I think replace the cells. I can't remember, I saw it in an issue of Popular Science.

Pink, you should see a Discovery Channel program called "2057: The Body" and see Dr. Michio Kaku's lecture at the Queensborough Community College, I think you will find your answers! :)

scientists would propery do so if it were not for the constant ban of genetic engineering of humans by those nay sayers

@jmm1233 who needs genetic engineering? You simply need a design schematic that can integrate with existing structures.

@PinkProgram Things of human nature often cause reactions. Thats why in many instances of transplants, immune suppressant drugs are required to prevent rejection of the organ in the initial stages. Additionally, how improved? The only real improvement or repair I've ever seen involving human cells or any animal cells in the first place was with stem cells.

@SCRulerShinoda it is now possible to use the patient's own tissue seeded onto a scaffold.
