a draw makes the ball spin forward so when it lands it will go further, the ball does not spin forward on a straight shot, i think there is slightly more backspin

retards below: a draw closes the club face, which decreases loft, so it will have a lower trajectory and roll more.
a fade is an open club face which increases loft, which means it will go higher and land softer.

The reason a draw goes further is because it compresses the ball more than a fade

think of a draw as a shot with topspin in tennis
alot more powerful than the drop shot, which is virtually the same as a fade, and used to stop the ball quicker
