Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX7V Review, Sample Pictures and Test Video

This is a review of the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX7V point and shoot. Sample pictures and video are included at the end of the video. The sample video was filmed in 1440x1080i at 60fps (AVCHD Codec). This is an easier file size to edit and work with.

At this point, you may be better off going for the HX9V. Costco has it for 260.00. I am using the HX9V at this point and think it's worth the extra few buck. Quality is actually noticeably better--particularly with stills, but video also. I have sample footage posted, so check it out.

This camera records in avchd and mp4. You can definitely use an external charger and the battery life is excellent.

You can zoom in while recording? Most cameras I've seen (at least the lower end ones) don't let you zoom in or adjust anything while recording.

IMO, the only difference between sony cyber shot hx7 and hx9 is the zoom capability of the two. other than that all others are of in the same footing..

What type of SD card can i use with this camera? What class and what size?

I love my HX7V, I've used it to film several employee videos at my company for showing internally, and the HD video quality is great. I also brought it with me to China and took some great pictures there :)
