This is the first part of 9 in my video of our trip to Papua New Guinea in August 2008. This clip starts with the theme music which was inspired by our intrepid endeavours to ensure Stu and his trusty wheelchair got to all the inaccessible bits of PNG in order to tick the speciality birds. We achieved this goal with spectacular success. The video starts at Mount Hagen where species include grey shrike-thrush, brown-breasted gerygone, yellow-breasted bowerbird, glossy swiftlet and hooded munia. We then moved to Kumul Lodge, where the species shown are smokey honeyeater, Brehm's tiger-parrot, brown sicklebill, Belford's melidectes, fan-tailed berrypecker, rufous-naped whistler and another brown sicklebill. The rest of the trip is shown in parts 2 to 9.
