Summarizes the Library's current information literacy programs at UNC Charlotte. In FY09, librarians taught 490 information literacy sessions and reached 10,800 students, approximately 45% of current enrollment. The Information Commons department will redevelop instructional services as more UNC Charlotte teachers incorporate technology into the curriculum. We will emphasize topics such as evaluating the authority of resources, academic integrity, and intellectual property. Information literacy and digital literacy will increasingly be pegged to the primacy of search within the world of smartphones, as students prefer speed, mobility, and convenience.
