** ADOPTED! **
Nelson came to us from PG County Animal Control in the beginning of winter '07 as a neglect case. He was very thin, with overgrown hooves and rain rot. He has since fully recovered and has turned into an alert and energetic adolescent. He loves running in the field with his other young herd mates after he's turned out from feeding. He ties for feed and grooming and is good for the vet and farrier. He likes to push his boundaries, but does well when consistently worked with on the ground. Nelson is doing very well under saddle and is going solidly at the walk/trot/canter. Due to his age, intense training and work should not start happening for at least another six months.
