@ABrandsma i think it's mirrored because it's a talkie or soundie (one of those), it was projected from behind... i could be wrong tho...
-
Assuming that this was a "Soundie" it makes sense that it is reversed; these films were watched from the opposite side of a translucent screen, hence the reversal.
Still, it's great to see, reversed or not.
It's great; it's like an alternate take for both Ben Webster AND Harry Carney; while it is not a showpiece for him, (his solo is generally neglected) as short as it is, it's also most excellent.

Big Ben has a "WTF am I doing here" look during his pantomime shot.

I love this video of Cotton Tail,
I've seen several other videos of this short
but I didn't know about the mirroring,
An outstanding rendition regardless.

It was released as "Cottontail", but the band called it "Shuckin' and Jivin' ".
Great Clip.

Someone should mirror this film back! Trombone horns on the wrong side, saxophone bells should be on the left side of the player, trumpet valves wrong, it's really a pitty that one of the most beautifull compositions in the swing era is turned around in the picture. Well, other side, we should be happy that this exists anyway. I have this one on DVD, will try to get it right in Movie Maker.

ABrandsma, I've had this for years, had no idea it was mirrored. If you can do that please post it the right way. Thanks
