@GruesomeGertie That was called Funky not showing off. Called he has some rhythm and was being funky. Bass is an instrument also besides it's supportive role. you can be funky and play rhythms

@GruesomeGertie ..Fuck off. It's slap bass you jealous cock-head.

Really great review - was actually this review that really killed any doubts I had whether to get this one or go a step up in price to a MIM J-bass - and I don't regret it at all! ;)
However, I feel like my bass isn't set up as well as it should be - I've also made some dumb adjustments to the truss rod... so is there any chance you guys could shoot a bass-setup tutorial video?
Would be awesome, thanks!

Awful, what a raspy sound. Sounds like a vibrating chain fence.

Pure bass wankery that intro. No need to show off like that in ANY type of music.

@GruesomeGertie - Luckily, this isn't music - it's a gear demo.

I'm either going to buy this or a Lakland 4401 in natural finish with maple. What would you recommend?

@afzoomie67 - Totally different feel and tone. The Lakie has a slim, Jazz-like neck. The G&L is a bit chunkier, like a P. They're both real nice basses for the money, you can't go wrong with either one, but I'm afraid I can't tell you which you should buy. That has to be your choice.

@BassGuitarMag and what's the difference between maple and rosewood? because that comes in both for the fretboard.

@afzoomie67 - Maple is a little brighter, snappier. Rosewood is a little darker, mellower - but it's subtle. You'd notice if you could play each side by side through the same amp.
