Removed old aluminum siding and a small porch area. Replaced with vinyl siding and vinyl shutters. Added 1/2 rigid foam insulation and housewrap to increase the R-value of the walls by 2.17.

  • I agree. I had the house wrap just laying around. I should have put it on after the insulation.

  • As an investor in my own house I felt the vinyl was step up from the dented aluminum. Next time feel free to come over and lay the brick for me instead there siszam.

  • I never understood why people put the housewrap on before the foam board, Its like

wearing a winter / rain jacket inside out.

  • Replacing aluminum with vinyl is like moving from Target to KMart. Both are cheap but you're going down in value. As in investor I hate to see people putting up vinyl because it lowers the value of the whole neighborhood. It just screams ghetto.

  • nice job, how many square feet was the material?

  • wow 1800 thas cheap considering that u di it urserlf, my will cost about 20k, i better learn how to do it by myserlf too :)
