It's probably difficult for people to recognise bad acting in something other than their native language. I'd bet Japanese people would have a hard time recognising bad english voice acting.
Although I think the main reason people watch Japanese versions instead of the english version is that most dubed Anime are heavily edited. (at least dialogue-wise)
So most people just watch the japanese version, regardless of how good the english VAs are.
But that fault lies with the editors and writers, not the voice actors themselves.
I love Hikaru Midorikawa's voice. This was the first time he ever voiced Marth, you know. He still voices him to this day.
That doesn't mean I hate Spike Spencer for voicing Marth in the English version of the OVA. It's not his fault that he didn't fit the character. He was just miscast, possibly due to the fact that FE had yet to reach western shores at this point.
Most English actors sound incredibly unnatural. Their tone and nuances of speech are very poor, they put stresses in very odd places that makes it very difficult to listen to for long periods. Rarely do I see good English voice acting at all.

This seems to echo something Leaf promises to do with Nanna in FE4.
I just wish people would acknowledge that fact instead of putting down decent English voice actors in favor of their generic Japanese counterparts.

I hate Shiida's voice in both versions.
(Japanese speakers, feel free to call me out on my spelling. I don't think it's right.)
her voice actress must be disappointment with her life
