Another of Hempel's rarely heard Edison disks, giving a wonderful reproduction of her extraordinary voice. She was a supreme lyric singer.
And what a pleasure to hear the lovely tone and legato of America's great violinist, Albert Spalding (of the same family that makes the famous baseballs!) A treasurable memento of two great artists.

Absolutely stunning. If only the performers on the operatic stage would realize that it is not how 'loud' they sing but that 'artistry' can only be acquired with extensive vocalizzi. NO ONE can do this today.
