A distinctly Stephen King vibe can be found in Cambodia - at the abandoned casino on a hilltop overlooking the Gulf of Thailand in Bokor, Cambodia. Built in the 1960's for Cambodia's elite, it was trashed by Khmer Rouge soldiers

To read about travels in Cambodia in the early 1990's, including a night in a ghost hotel, read 'Sandwiches Should NEVER Taste Like Cow Crap' published in 2008 by Manta Press.

  • This abandoned French built casino/hotel was featured in the Matt Dillon movie "City of Ghost". It appeared in the last 15 minutes or so of the film.
