During this time Dave used USA custom shop Ibanez guitars made just for him. They were NOT the same Vai used. His amps were Marshall JCM 900 series. He used Boss pedals such as the DS1, DD3 and/or PS3, CH1 and OC2. He would always step on a Boss DS1 Distortion for a lead boost and would usually leave his delay on.
He used an Ibanez Jem 777, Same one Vai used, super hot pickups. Also , Marshall amps for crunch and a Fender Deluxe for clean. Sustain comes from A combo of fast chorus, Heavy delay , and amp distortion, plus a rotary pedal effect of some type if I'm not mistaken.
wow this song is too good. better than nancy reagan in a 2 piece with a big mouth bass and a bucket of cottage cheese. I liek to sit in my car and masturbate to fatal thoughts of suicide
dave uses Tubescreamers live now :) PS I have never seen perry using a mic stand before. he must have been wasted at this show

@bmarrero He did an interview for Guitar Player magazine shortly after "Ritual de la Habitual" album was released.
It seems that JCM 900 amps are his personal favorites since he has used them consistently throughout his career.
He now steps on a Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion pedal for extra gain but he used a DS-1 early on.
JCM 900 amps and Boss pedals rule!!!!

@jrmarrero96 Where did you get that info?
I happen to use JCM 900 and the DS1 too, just love 'em !
Seems that there are not many people today who care for these amps anymore.
