My contribution to the "Harmony of a Hunter" album - shinesparkers.net/harmonyofahunter - assembled by Shinesparkers, this is an arrangement of the "Vs. Parasite Queen" theme from Metroid Prime, originally by Kenji Yamamoto and Koichi Kyuma. Not sure what to call this genre... aggressive ambient funk, something like that? I dunno, it was inspired by my chillout composer colleague Xerxes - xerxes-music.com - and then ramped up a notch.
Either way, I've enjoyed the Metroid Prime soundtrack since I first heard it, so paying it homage was fun, and I recommend you check out the full free album Harmony of a Hunter, lots of groovy tracks on it!
It has an Earthbound feel to it.

I love this.
And I can't be the only one thinking about the possible link between the Parisite Queen and the X Parasites.

I love the style of this.. Totally reinvents the song into a jazzy but extremely unsettling, very alien sound. Bravo sir :D

What does the X represent? All I can think of are X parasites...from Fusion.

This is one of my favorites form the whole album because of how different it is from most remixes I've heard and different form the original song in general.
It's calming and not calming at the same time.
Really good job.
