@nicholaswright2006 If you read my comment properly you would see it was a Sam Harris quote. It is from his book "Letter to a Christian Nation". If you'd like other evidence go to the American Pregnancy Association website and type "miscarriage" into the search bar at the top right. The APA states "Studies reveal that anywhere from 10-25% of all clinically recognized pregnancies will end in miscarriage".

@hampoofegg ok...think about it this way. that child, if given the CHANCE at life COULD in fact go to a good home. that child could in fact, IF GIVEN THE CHANCE AT LIFE, grow up and very possibly find something huge. maybe the cure for cancer, maybe an alternative energy, maybe the cure for diabetes. but how are they going to do that, if the child never even gets a chance... and what gives humans the right to take away that chance? its. not. our. job. its. not. our. right.

Yeah, sure...think about a situation where it would be a terrible idea to have a baby....say not having the means to raise a child AT ALL, the child would go hungry, be too hot or cold, and most likely live in terribly unhealthy conditions. Sometimes it's just better for that to go down. Alternatively, how do you feel about the death sentence?
