Coda of death
-
@angramainiuu that is because she is hot.
-
I love both but Richter is still my main man after 50+ years.
-
@angramainiuu it has better sound quality

Did they not tune that piano since Prokofiev's death for nostalgic reasons? Prokofiev is one of the few things Yuja plays really well, probably because I bet he arouses her. Richer's first movement is superior, but I think you're all just not being objective. Yuja maintains massive tension throughout the piece without compromising its structure. Yeah, it's more cerebral, but still dark, and 'sewing machine?' come on.
-
Some of the high keys on that piano were horribly out of tune. Only flaw in what could be considered THE reference interpretation of this piece.
-
...yeah, next to Richter, it was sewing machine, but, still, it was some sewing...well, Richter, sure as hell, is not sewing, it is something else, at the very least...
-
Richter looks like a pagliaccio here.
-
@KitaroED There are many many live Richter performances of this work. One famous recording is 1960 Carnegie Hall performance.
-
@angramainiuu cuz one is lived and the this one is studio recorded?
dumb arse.
I can't believe it.. people watched Yuja Wang's sewing machine rendition of this sonata way more than this artist's soulfull interpretation..
