  • @anvilsring Rest assured, some of us younger folks have, and appreciate it. Much too many don't, though…

  • 19/8 time FTW...

  • I was there at Monterey in 1966, and it was an amazing performance. Also saw John Handy's incredible quintet there that year

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • The tenor solo was Ira Shulman NOT Sam Falzone. A young Tom Scott played alto sax.

Ruben Leon - Alto Sax, Soprano Sax, Flute

Tom Scott - Alto Sax, Saxello, Flute

Ira Shulman - Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Clarinet

Ron Starr - Tenor Sax, Flute, Clarinet

John Magruder - Baritone Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarine

  • It was NOT Sam Falzone. It was Ira Shulman on tenor. A young Tom Scott played alto sax on this album.

  • Many artists have played in odd time signatures. The difference is this GROOVES in 19/8. Not a small detail. BTW I'm 28.

  • @nyctemene add the beats as theyre phrased......

one two three, one two three, one two, one two, one two, one, one two, one two, one two...

    19/8

  • @nyctemene it's just like the title of the song: 3-3-2-2-2-1-2-2. You could call it 19/8 too

  • what time signature is this i cant figure it out

  • FANTASTIC!!!
