Jonathan Hoenig presents - and James Bell accepts - the Tea Party Award at the 2nd Annual Sammies.
James Bell, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, won the $5,000 Tea Party Award for his work in defeating two sales tax increases and proposing a bill, which in 2008 became Georgia law, restricting local government from holding tax votes on special elections.
Over 300 people attended the 2nd Annual Sammies on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Marriott Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel. Sponsored by the Sam Adams Alliance, the Sammies recognizes and rewards every day people for their activism in support of individual liberty and economic freedom at the state and local level.
