I got so many messages asking me to do this shoot out so here ya go. Original 69 vs Slight Return vs MkII. For all the real geeky gear heads out there I know about pot tolerances and difference in transisitors and all that but....
Let me know what you think!
ripp'in it at the end...nice!

Great demo - making me think about getting the original. Has just a little bit more magic to it. I have a as yet unopened slight return pedal that might be going on the market....

great licks!

The one closest to the guitar will certainly have the most clarity and clean-up due to the way that a fuzz interacts with pickup impedance.

Nice demo thanks. The original sounds best to me. It has the best clarity to my ears. Could also be the signal chain diminishing the others too depending how you're cabled up.

Thank you for a fantastic demo, as always! :-)
To my surprise, I liked the MkII best. The other two seemed a bit harsh and raspy in comparison. Some might perceive the original and the 'slight return' to have more oomph, but I think the MkII might do a better job at covering ALL the bases, including chording and guitar volume-down riffing.
I someone wants a pedal that cleans up well, and is good for more than just flat out ripping, I'd recommend the MkII.

I know these are true bypass pedals, but is their any chance the mkII is so quiet due to signal loss from being 3rd in the chain? Maybe do this with each in a true bypass loop so it's an equal trip from guitar->pedal->amp for each one.

Terrific demo Trev thanks for doing this - now i understand what all the fuss is about - the original pedal kills - the other two sound good but the first one has more clarity and bite - bugger - i was hoping the new affordable MkII was going to waste the old timers. Cheers SP.
