yes starvos is nickolas's dad and laura is his mom she had nickolas when starvos kiddnapped her

Likely because they needed a Stavros for the new generation. They needed someone in the same age range as Stephen Nichols (Stefan) who was to play his brother and young enough for Helena to have been his mother. The original actor would have seemed too old, plus, the writers changed the plot completely. Originally Stavros was a cousin, not so of Mikos and Helena.

Thanks for that. A journalist/writer actually contacted me after that post to direct me to an interview she'd done with him - he also does fashion design and has (or at least had at the time - I havent looked recently) a website for his designs.

He goes by John Morissey now. Has a profile on IMDB. Seems he's been directing and producing mostly.

I just LOVED this storyline back in the day - John Martinuzzi totally makes it for me. I wonder whatever happened to him - the internet yields no clues... I've never, ever forgotten him in this role. If there any more clips of him I'd love to see them - but thank you so much for posting this one!
