A quick review of the latest HEROES episode 'Close to You'. The review sums up my initial reactions after immediately watching the episode for the first time.

This video was made immediately following the broadcast. It is a quick summary taken from the first viewing. Some parts of the episode may have been forgotten or omited simply for times sake.

I DO NOT own any of the material seen (pictures, fan art, etc. But, speaking of fan art, if you see your image in the slideshow and would like to claim credit, let me know!) or the music heard in the introduction (it, rightfully, belongs to the Posies). I also do not take any credit for the show (though it does not take a genius to figure that one out), I am merely stating my opinons.

I apologize for any errors throughout the video. I did a routine check before uploading, but there might be a few that I did not catch.

  • I watched the Doctor Who shows. They had a marathon on Canada's Space channel, showing: The Planet Of The Dead, The Waters Of Mars, and The End Of Time. They were shown on the second. I liked The Waters Of Mars (that was shown in mid December, I think). It was exciting to see The Doctor dealing with the hopeless situation as the explorers started dying one after another. His resolution was universe shaking. I liked seeing the Timelords in The End Of Time.

Whoops, I accidentally removed the Planet of the Dead comment...

The scenes on Earth were brilliant, but I wasn't a big fan of the companion. I think she was the primary reason I wasn't a fan...

RTD is the lazy way of writing Russel T Davies. I've gotten so used to seeing it written as RTD it's become second nature...

  • Yet it seems like they can't decide what to do with Sylar. I think he's jumped around so much (villain/hero/villain) that it's getting a tad bit redundant, especially this season.

The potential of Peter is astronomical. It's really rather ground shaking (pardoning the potential pun). There's theories floating around that Peter will replace Samuel as head of the carnival. I don't know how much is true, but it's an idea to think about.

  • Sylar may be headed towards herodom. Samuel has shown how truely nasty he can be. He has shown how powerful too, but I think that the atomic bomb that Peter became at the end of the first season was far more destructive.

  • I finally got a chance to see it this morning.

I really like the scenes involving Hiro, primarily because of the return of Adam Monroe and Kaito Nakamura.

I'm still going back and forth on whether or not I like the Samuel storyline. I'm glad the attention has somewhat shifted from Sylar in the villain department, but I'm sort of undecided overall, especially recently... And I actually liked Claire's storyline this episode.

  • I just watched it this afternoon. I am on an evening shift now, I tape everything. I think that I have already said that I most enjoy the Hiro story line. That said, I was very happy with this episode. The Claire story line progressed a bit, I am happy with that too. Samuel is still creepy. Noah and Suresh make a brief appearance. I believe that you can watch the show on-line at NBC. I just watched 24 (FOX), the second hour was on at the same time as Heroes.

I didn't get the chance to watch this weeks (soon to be last weeks) episode. I wasn't home and my brother stopped the recording, so I haven't been able to see it yet. Which sort of sucks considering that was the one I was most excited to see. I'm hoping that someone has posted it online considering NBC doesn't show reruns.

What did you think of it?

Waters of Mars was definitely my favorite of the specials (I didn't care much for Planet of the Dead). It was a truly excellent episode, probably one of the best of RTD. I was sort of iffy on End of Time Part One. The second part was great, but I didn't like part one. It wasn't bad, persay, it was just... Okay.

  • I am still watching Heroes too, of course.
