Let's look at the bigger picture. Kids need sports, but they also need to learn to value the environment.
This is a $12 Million project. The fields can be renovated with real grass RIGHT NOW for $1 million and the rest of the $11 million used to FIX UP MORE PLAYING FIELDS ALL OVER SAN FRANCISCO.
Let's give the kids a renovated natural grass field and protect Golden Gate Park's habitat for wildlife and for everyone to experience nature.

Interestingly enough, the nicest looking field in the video is the newly renovated grass Polo Field in GGP. If City Fields Foundation really cared about soccer in San Francisco they would be creating more fields. Brand new artificial fields for those who want them. Instead they just destroy our existing grass fields. Those of us who prefer multi-use grass fields are losing fields.

Artificial turf soccer fields do not belong in Golden Gate Park. City Fields Foundation must stay out of Golden Gate Park. Their plans to pave acres of parkland, erect 60 foot high lights, remove trees, and pave access areas is a terrible idea. Shame on the Fisher family for pushing this project down the throats of San Franciscans. Maybe the best way to tell them how opposed we are to their plan is to boycott The Gap. All those in favor, say Aye.
