the problem with negging to disqualify yourself is that everyone is so familiar with the tactic (cocky funny etc) that no-one (especially not the males in the group) is going to believe you're not interested. if anything it will confirm their suspicion. negging = flirting, and everyone knows it

@trin1721 Laughter bypasses the sceptic mind... So if they laugh with you when negging'em ... it's still accepted even though they would consider it flirting.
