  • My goodness...so much negativity from the horse experts. You put down cowboys for riding horses the way they do but you never stop to look at what the sporting world does with them. Eventing, Hunter Jumpers, Steeple Chase, Horse Racing are far worse. My friend Jesus Jauregui who is featured in the documentary movie called Wild Horses, Wild Ride is a cowboy. I would much rather leave my horses in his care that GinnyGens. Horse Freak is clueless and probably has no idea what a pulled stifle is.

  • Peta claims they *love* animals ut have had no problem murdering over 14,000 of them.

I highly doubt anywhere near that number has died at rodeos in the time Peta has gone on it's killing spree.

  • @GoGadgetHookerClean He's not bein' forced to buck, when horses aren't broke yet they buck naturally. The flank strap enhances the natural bucking motion anyways.

  • this type of injury could happen to ANY horse even just running around in the pasture

  • Rodeo people treat there horses awful. I am a racehorse trainer and I was shocked at the rotten care the rodeo horses recieved when the rodeo came to town

  • This truly is about the worst I've seen. Not only did they allow this horse to be injured but they were TOTALLY ill equipped to handle such a large animal injury. This is pathetic. Can't these "cowboys" find something better to do to occupy their time?? I find all of these shit irrelevant and totally uncalled for. There truly is no place for bronc riding of any kind anymore, it's a totally stupid and useless event.

  • @iiHorseFreak Accidents happen, I was working with a colt in my arena trying to get him started to cut. Neighbor's dog decided to come over, spooked the horse. Guess what? Same thing happened as in the video, except I ended up with a busted knee and ankle. The vet advised me that it would be best to put the horse down. I didn't want to, but I did.

  • @iiHorseFreak I'm not trying to change your views. I'm just stating the facts. There is plenty of information on animal welfare that is true on the PRCA website, though I won't go into detail here.

  • @StormyNola Yea.. and people havent lied before. I told you nothing you could type will change my views on the subject. get over it.. I call it abuse.., you call it sport. Whatever, i know hundreds of people who agree with me.

  • @iiHorseFreak Straight from PRCA, the largest rodeo association existing: The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association formed guidelines for proper and humane treatment of livestock in 1947, a full 7 years before the founding of the Humane Society of the United States.

In a 1994 survey conducted by on-site independent veterinarians at 28 sanctioned rodeos involving 33,991 animal runs, the injury rate was documented at .00047 percent - which translates to less than five-hundredths of one percent.

  • @iiHorseFreak If a bucking strap is unnatural, how is a saddle now? Or a bridle? If you would like to debate on the facts, please do so correctly. The inside is lined with sheepskin or neoprene. Rodeo rules specify the flank strap must be lined with enough sheepskin to cover the belly of the horse and both flanks, and that no sharp or cutting edges of any kind be present. These rules are consistent with what animal behaviorists have taught us. A frightened horse will run, rather than buck.

  • @StormyNola ...No, Bucking straps are unnatural peices of equipment. I dont like horse racing either and im alowed to have an opinion. some rodeo sports are cruel, such as Roping and bronc riding. I never said they were asses for trying to keep the horse down.. there asses for making that horse to that, Its there fault it got hurt. and That horse was obvioisly not having a good time, it was petrified!! I have my opinion. Nothing you can say can change my MIND!..
