I made this film using photography and sound recording, in the frame of Tripo 08 workshop in Tripoli in August 2008.
Abou Rakan is probably the last Oud (musical instrument) maker in Tripoli, he speaks of how he started and plays a song on the first Oud he ever made. In his playing one can sense a weight; he opens up and tells us why his "hands are tied". He speaks of life's problems, his sick wife, and the grace of God...
