AUT-1157 Tail/Brake LED Lamps that are designed to replace incandescent 1157 bulbs in combination tail/brake signals in most cars, motorcycles, forklifts, ATVs and trailers. Having nearly twice as many LEDs as competitive lamps, the AUT-1157 LED lamps feature 24 Super Red (633nm) discrete LEDs that are scientifically configured to maximize brightness and to fill the entire light fixture. Eighteen LEDs direct light straight through the vehicle's fixture. Additionally, six LEDs are arranged perpendicular to the lamp base in order to radiate light onto the light fixture's reflector and illuminate the entire surface of the fixture. Total light output is 100 end footcandles.

Wow, amazing. The biggest benefits of LED lights-- the fact that they light up faster and more crisply are not even discussed in this report. Because they light up faster, they give the guy behind you has more time to brake, and has less of a chance of slamming into you. How much more time? .2 sec, or the equivalent of 20 extra feet of braking for the guy behind you at 70mph. Want 20 less feet of car up your keyser? Yeah, that's what I thought. That's a convincing argument.
