8 week doberman takes on 90 lb German Shepherd. Both are from European lines. No matter how many times the dobie gets pushed over he always comes back for more. My shepherd's very good with the puppy. After a good romp in the house or in the backyard, the dobie takes a nap, snuggling with the shepherd.

I offer obedience trained puppies and protection trained dogs at a more affordable price. Puppies are raised and trained in my house. I also will do obedience or protection training for your dog. My site is www.atlantaworkingdogs.com

  • I also wanted to add your dogs are both great looking dogs. How much does your dobe weigh at 8 weeks? or is he past 8 weeks now?

  • At 8 weeks he was 15 lbs. At 13 weeks he is 38 lbs. He is going to be over 100 lbs. Yours will be a monster, say about 120 to 140 lbs if he keeps up his growth rate. The 93 lb 1 yr old German shepherd was only 15 lbs at 9 weeks. You get the picture. Just keep feeding him good. Diesel's an awesome name. This Diesel was fostered. He's now in his forever home but they are sending me constant updates. Dobies are awesome!!

  • aweosme dogs!!, love 'em both, which one is smarter and more protective?

  • Both are very smart. Its about how much you put into them. Diesel's just a little guy so his protective instincts wont come for a while. Tucker's came out at 6 months old, when my friend walked in without knocking, he tore after him barking. If I welcome someone in the house, he brings them toys to play with. Diesel will be the same though. Tucker took 2 days to housetrain. Diesel took 4 days. Both were bought to train in schutzhund though. European dogs are generally better for it.

  • An example of how it is how much you put into the dog, my brother's girlfriend had a 5 lb puppy minipoodle who he claimed they coudln't housetrain and was completely stupid. I spent 5 minutes with her and bits of chicken and taught her "dance" and "sit." Just start with low distraction level and slowly add them. My shepherd knows how to turn off lights, open doors, cabinets, and even the fridge, and can even be called off of chasing a squirrel. My brother once thought he was "stupid" too.

Mine turned 8 weeks yesterday and had a vet check and consultation about his ear cropping he weighed in at 18.5lbs! the vet was amazed with his size and said this dog is going to make a huge doberman.
