Excuse a neophyte, but what is EMP? I'm guessing this isn't a run of the mill SCA battle. The unarmed part of this battle was brutal!

Its EMP rules, 3 hits and you are out. The leg hit counted as 1 hit. No going to your knees, or losing limbs

Did the first strike on magnus's leg not count? Did he maybe not feel it? It was kinda blocked by the marshal.

Yes, he ran this particular EMP/SCA tournament at Clinton in late July 2009. :)

Magnus isn't in this fight, so not sure which hit you're referring to -- but EMP is "three solid blows" to kill, you don't get legged as in SCA fighting.
