The Ford Thunderbird didn't have squat on the GT Hawk.
I wish I only had one (or two).

@llamapapa11 my boyfriend and i found a perfect 1956 stude powerhawk in a carport in santa monica, we both fell in love it as black with no chrome edging trim but it had the trippiest dashboard with metal swirls in it. we drove all over in it one time in la we came back from a concert at 4 am there was an old drunk going the wrong way up the onramp we drove up the embankment went air borne an still kept going like a champ it went 90 miles an hour home and still ran good!

What destroys Studebakers across the board -- diminishing their stellar exteriors -- is that of their utterly CHEAP, TACKY and MINDLESS interior designs, structural finishes (err ... hexhead botls and screws ... would be preferred to jarring flathead or Phillips head: for that matter concealed fasteners of any sort would prove optimal; crude welds) poor suspension engineering ... rendering total ridership experience abysmal unless SERIOUS MODIFICATIONS aka IMPROVEMENTS are made by an owner

Im buying one of these from my neighbor. its black but the paint is chipping there's some rust and the engine has some problems not to mention the bulbs need replacing. I couldn't be happier.

Dad has a 62 GT hawk flame red 4 barrel 4 speed. The automatics are granny cars but that 4 speed is a ton of fun to drive... Except Studebaker wasn't thinking when they made the horn ring. Its impossible to back out of a place without honking... Then everyone looks at you and assume you're begging for attention.
