Largely forgotten, Southern civil rights leader Robert F. Williams' conservative example of the eternal importance of the right to bear arms.

  • Very concise presentation. Thanks

  • @kmj2000 I as stated before I have both books RADIO FREE DIXIE AND NEGROES WITH GUNS.Both are must reads for black ppl now more than ever!

  • @peterwo2e Robert F.Williams was the predessor to Malcolm X when it came to the idea of SELF-DEFENSE

  • @kmj2000 I have this book and I also have "NEGROES WITH GUNS" its his personal bio

  • blacks that did not defend themself would be found lynch from a tree. closing your eyes and leting the white devil kill your family and burn your house is not much of an obtion. history have prove this. going to war to defend a nation that wanted to kill you was very rough. racist and the kkk are still very active in america today the diference today is that they are well hiden.

  • Then read "Radio Free Dixie" for the reasons why Williams was aligned with Communists. The traitors were the ones who didn't uphold the constitution for one group of people because of the color of their skin. How can you uphold ideals for American citizens then deny one group access to those ideals? How is that not a betrayal?

Anyway Radio Free Dixie is a must read because Robert F. Williams is a too modest in his own book.

  • Please read "Negroes with Guns" by Robert F. Williams, to learn more about the "abduction". Essentially a Klansman brought his wife along to terrorize Mr. Williams but didn't expect a mob that were there to defend. Williams protected them in his house, but didn't escort them out. They were free to leave, they were just too scared to do it by themselves.

  • @swordofdixie

His abduction charges are worth more investigation, but the Klan, even though anti-Communist, was anti-American and, terrorists. They needed to stand against them.

I'm not sure that all the blacks in the town were Communist. It's an easy charge. More likely, they were simply standing up for themselves.

What were they supposed to do, just hide in their houses while the local thuggery had their way?

  • @MrPotatoehead - Yes, I'm certain you believe that Communists confronting anti-Communists with guns is heroic. The domestic enemies were the Communists and their sympathizers. Maybe you are unaware that Robert Williams abducted two White people? He wasn't alone when he did this. Those who were, as you say, "sympathetic" helped him.

  • @swordofdixie

Maybe he was, but the other people of that town were likely not and, if they were sympethic to them, it was probably more because they were the object of prejudice and, poor treatment and, saw no other option. The idea that I could ride through a neighborhood of other people in order to imtimidate them is as foreign to me as communism.

Communist or not, the fact that the black people confronted the Klan with guns is heroic. Enemies can be both foreign, and domestic.
