Unfortunately, this movie must have been greenlit on idea alone, because the screenwriters (all three of them) left everybody else out in the cold on this one. Director David Slade, who showed such promise with the twisted psychological thriller "Hard Candy" two years ago, shoots the movie with style to spare, but cannot muster an ounce of suspense. What's more, "30 Days" feels every bit as long as its title.

It is a warthog wearing a balloon. Enjoy! I'm glad you got so much out of this movie cuz it just made us realize there are very few good vampire ideas left...i agree with holymoose about the bad ending, too. the story is more important, and this one went nowhere...

Why do they even need 30 days of night? It gets dark almost every 12 hours anywhere else! They can't eat/drink that much. You guys though, I would suggest avoiding expressions about the title like "it felt like 30 days in the theater" Sooo many critics do this and its.. well, dumb.

wow..did they just compare 30 days of night..to BUFFY? WTF? maybe they should not go home and write a better screen play, but you should stop reviewing movies and start reviewing cartoons. its not suppose to scare you, who gets scared watching a vampire movie? name one movie that had vampires that scared ANYBODY.

Actually, it was about time someone actually made vampires into ice cold killer demons.

I was getting so fucking sick and tired vampires portrayed as "tortured souls" with a goth fetish.

These are cruel, evil, sick mass murdering psychos.

Not exactly a good movie but I love what they did with the vampire theme.

Are you kidding me? Powerful emotions leading up to the ending with matching soundtrack to boot.. It wasn't perfect..but it wasn't bad either.

this movie had amazing imagery, great anticipation and then when they went in the attic it was a little boring but they picked it up and they coulda made it better but i had fun watching it and i think it deserves a lot more credit compared to all the other shitty horror movies nowadays
