Romans 9 is such an alleged stronghold of truth for Calvinists.
Here in the Quick Answers to Calvinists Format is addressed Paul's quote that God has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens and Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honour and another for dishonour?
Romans 9:17-23
Just as Paul is pointing to God having mercy on whom He wills in righteousness by having said GOD SAID TO MOSES in Romans 9:15, so here with Pharaoh and his confirming use of 2 DIFFERENT Greek verbs in R9:22-23, Paul is pointing to God hardening whom He wills also in righteousness. The potter illustration involves Gods work in the nations and not salvation.

@gracetruthguy why dont **you read Romans 9 ,yourself and pay particular attention to the use of the term "I" in verses 19-20 ,and if that is not enough for you to grasp have a good look at 14 ,15,16,17,18,19,20 ,
as to associating GOD with evil ,when you said there is no darkness in HIM ,he did command the destruction ,complete and utter destruction of the amalakites and many others ,was that evil ,or is your definition of evil based on emotion and not scripture ,bye

Hi roxfoot
For a start all your quoting of Romans 3:10-18 is out of context.
The next verse provides us with the explicit purpose for Paul quoting the OT like that!
"Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law" V.19
It is to demonstrate that the Jews are sinners too: No more!
Read Paul yourself:
"have they not HEARD? YES INDEED:
'Their sound has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world' " Romans10:18
quoting Ps19

Hi roxfoot
So, let me get this straight the God who says:
"I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images." Isaiah 42:8
Is a God who also makes people do that?
Utter blasphemy and confusion as to what is in the Scripture!

@gracetruthguy So you actually believe that people who have no knowlage of CHRIST can be saved ,you actually believe that people with no understanding of their sinful nature as spelled out in the bible ,can be saved ,even though the bible states that all have fallin short and not one seeks after god ,our work are filthy rags and mans mind is evil continually ,we can without CHRIST be saved ,what an absolute heritic ,goodbye

Hi roxfoot
Have you not read that Christ was rejected (and accepted) long before He came as Jesus, and still is now since He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)?
Here He is being rejected by the people of Israel (those that rebelled):
"nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents" 1 Corinthians 10:9
Our gospel now gives assurance of salvation
Even Creation is a gospel fit for purpose Paul said
C Romans 10:18 quoting Ps19

@gracetruthguy
salvation comes by CHRIST alone who said , I am the way the truth and the life none come to the father but through ME" ,believing in GOD is akin to believing in rocks ,without the message and sacrifice of CHRIST none are saved ,were you notion true ,CHRIST would have died for nothing
,context ,verse 12 "those who believe in his name" speaking of the word that came into the world and dwelt among us ,if your definion is true ,why preach ,why share ,why bother reading the bible

Hi roxfoot
John 1:9 explains how people who never hear the gospel are saved.
God gives light to every man
Even those born deaf and blind
And, as many as receive Him - believe in His name: which is a term identifying believing in the character of God [i.e. righteousness, etc - like Paul mentioned in Romans 2 about law written in the heart of those who do not have the law (or the gospel)] these are THEN given the right to become children of God (JOHN1:12) AFTER that reception

Hi roxfoot
I see, you appear to understand that prophecy is proof that God knows all things future.
How prophecy works:
"I am God . . . Declaring the end from the beginning . . . Saying, ‘. . . I will do all My pleasure,’ Calling . . . The man who executes My counsel, from a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it" Isaiah 46:9-11
What God declares - prophecy - is what He makes happen. Nothing more...
