Ruslana about animal charity project

Ruslana's statement about replacing harmful animal use at Ukrainian universities by computer simulations. The German animal rights organisations People for Animal Rights Germany and later Doctors Against Animal Experiments provided technical equipment to replace the use of thousands of animals at several Ukrainian universities.

The statement was recorded in Braunschweig, Germany, 7th May 2007.

Видео-обращение Русланы по поводу международного зоозащитного проекта "Компьютеры вместо животных", целью которого является замена ряда экспериментов на животных в украинских университетах компьютерными альтернативами. Немецкая благотворительная организация "Люди за права животных Германия"
предоставила техническое оборудование, которое позволит ежегодно сохранять жизнь 1200 животным в двух харьковских университетах.

Translation of the statement:

There are a lot of problems in Ukraine, and it is very good that people from other countries try to help us to solve certain problems. Some people think that these are small problems, but for others these are vital problems. Certainly Europe has already overcome a lot of problems, and it goes a bit ahead of us, because they devote much more time to the solution of different problems, including animal protection. At different press-conferences in Europe questions were raised concerning what we can do regarding environmental protection, human trafficking, fight against drugs and other social problems, including animal protection.
And now a very active group of people which works successfully in Germany and organizes a lot of different projects has decided to help Ukraine to change the situations with the education of medical students. The aim of their charity project is to save animals from being murdered for experiments. If it is possible with the help of new technologies and it is possible to apply them in the same way, then why should we kill the animals? We can use modern technologies and go ahead together with Europe. I am grateful to those people who help to make this possible.
I know that they have been working at this issue for a long time. They called me several times and asked me to support them. Of course I will support all of these projects and initiatives. I wish that this project will help to solve the problem not only in Kharkiv, but in the whole of Ukraine, in Europe and may be in the whole world. I wish that everyone in our country realizes that we have to solve all social problems that arise in our country, and we should never postpone the solution.

Don't get me wrong but most Animal Rights people get unblanced in there thinking unatural may be a better term.
