  • @autonomia386 I agree with you that the vatican does not fully represent Christians and those rulers do not represent socialists. However, those people wouldn't have had so much power if the socialists under them had not given them so much power. In all cases the people believed that their government had their interests in mind and in all cases they ended up in a more terrible situation than they were in before. The people were socialists, the leaders they put in place were not.

  • @perfectfailure23 "National Socialism" is not socialism, its Fascism and the soviet union is no more representiitve of socialism as the vatican is for christianity.

  • My favorite thing about socialists is that they view all capitalists as bad people, but if you bring up one instance of a nasty socialist regime like Nazis they'll tell you that it doesn't count. In order to make sure people are treated "fairly" the govt. must be given immense power. In the past we've seen dictators arise from socialism that have banned religion, killed many millions of their own (Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, Mao, etc.) and eventually bankrupted their governments. Sounds great!

  • As a Christian i have no real choice BUT to be a socialist but we socialists welcome people of ALL faiths and those with no faith traditon at all. ALL are welcome and equal. Peace!

  • Actually all of those examples of "socialism" such as "public education", "the 40 hour work week", "Child Labor Laws", were all ideas that developed parallel to the invention of Robert Owens socialism, of which socialism has no justified claim to.

  • When Socialism going to work? The answer is: -NEVER. In order to work everybody MUST be 100% perfekt in any means. Also needs 0% crime. So this is The biggest UTOPIA ever!

  • If this is true in any way shape or form, why did the Founding Fathers not tax progressively and redistribute wealth? Why did they create documents to limit Government? Why life, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of Happiness....they did not guarantee anything else.

  • No, it's *not* morally wrong to argue that some people fail to work as hard as others. Ever seen the academic test results of a single classroom? Those students are all in the same class given the same test, so if there's any inequality it comes from effort on the students' part not the teacher or test. Equal opportunity does not create equal results.

Socialists are so brain-dead it boggles the mind to imagine the irony that academia is so rampant with them.

  • The only way to advocate socialism is to pass an insanely high amount laws. The founding fathers would NOT want that. By the way, I haven't gotten the slightest benefit from social security, public education, child labor laws, or any other "fruits" of socialism.

  • Thomas jefferson meant equal rights not equal stuff and certainly not equal influence. You haft to build that up yourself. The reason why the business men have a more prosperous life than the poor girls is because they lived in a country that maximized liberty and oppertunity. Unlike all of the failed socialist countries of the past. You have the right to life liberty and the persuit of happyness not the guarentee of happyness!
